Hello, I’m Allison…I’ve been told I often have a lot to say.

I’m not entirely sure what has compelled me to start a blog. Some of it has to do with the fact that with the advent of COVID-19 I’ve lost my job and have a lot of spare time on my hands. A larger part of it has to do with the fact that quite a few people (you know who you are) have told me that I should be writing and should have a blog. I figure that it happened enough times that it was the universe conspiring to have me put words on the screen and hit the ‘publish’ button. Quite frankly, this terrifies me. I know not where this blogging road will lead to but I’m giving it a try.

I am a huge fan of cinema and a bookworm. I am an unapologetic crazy cat lady and adore my two Tonkinese cats Luther and Pelayo. Amateur equestrian and lifetime horse lover. Addicted to all things cheese related, extreme hot sauces, red wine, cherries, sourdough bread and oysters. I wholeheartedly admit to being a nerd who loves science and math, word games and quizzes, anything that tests my mental competence and mettle.

Married to an Asturian from Spain, Marco, who puts up with me and my sometimes overly critical brain that usually pushes him over the edge, but who continues to love me anyway.

I’m Canadian by the way, and anyone who knows me is probably shocked I haven’t brought this up sooner. I’ve been living in the UK in southwest London since Oct.1997. Like all good Canadians abroad we can’t help but excitedly point out other famous Canadians to anyone within earshot whenever the opportunity arises.
